The Transformation of The Mirage Hotel & Casino into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas

The iconic Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, known for its spectacular volcano shows and luxurious accommodations, is set to close its doors on July 17. This closure marks the beginning of a new chapter as the property undergoes a massive transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. The transition comes after Hard Rock’s acquisition of the Mirage from MGM Resorts International for a whopping $1.1 billion.

Hard Rock’s vision for the new integrated resort includes a stunning nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower, which will soon replace the Mirage’s signature volcano. The Hard Rock Las Vegas is slated to make its grand debut in the spring of 2027, promising a fresh and exciting experience for visitors to the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Guests with existing room reservations or show tickets beyond July 14 will have their bookings automatically canceled, irrespective of whether they were made directly or through a third party. Hard Rock has assured that guests who made direct bookings will receive automatic refunds, with deposits expected to be returned within seven to 10 days. For reservations made through online travel agencies, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies of the respective platforms. In order to facilitate the hotel’s closure, all guests are required to check out on or before July 15.

While the Mirage undergoes its transformation, the iconic Hard Rock CafĂ© located on the Las Vegas Strip will remain operational, offering guests and visitors a taste of the rock ‘n’ roll experience. Originally opened in 1989, the 3,044-key Mirage became a part of MGM Resorts in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of entertainment and luxury in the heart of Las Vegas.

Through its closure and subsequent rebirth as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas, the Mirage bids farewell to an era while paving the way for a new era of excitement and innovation on the Las Vegas Strip. With its unique guitar-shaped hotel tower and promise of an unforgettable experience, the Hard Rock Las Vegas is poised to become the next must-visit destination for travelers and music enthusiasts alike.
