He succeeds Pierfrancesco Vago, the executive chairman of MSC Cruises, who held the position since January 2021. As the chairman of CLIA, Liberty is not only responsible for leading the association’s global executive committee and board of directors but also for setting the strategic direction for CLIA’s cruise line members. In contrast, the company’s major competitors, Carnival Corp. and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, struggled to regain their stock prices.
