Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas Sets New Passenger Record in 2023

Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas has achieved yet another milestone in 2023. After experiencing its busiest November in history, the airport surpassed its record for the highest number of passengers in a single year, even before December concluded. With a total of 52.8 million passengers passing through the airport by the end of November, the previous record of 52.6 million set in 2022 was exceeded. This achievement solidifies the airport’s status as a consistent leader in passenger traffic, with a streak of record-breaking years since 2017, excluding the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.

In November alone, approximately 4.8 million passengers arrived or departed from Harry Reid Airport. This represents a noteworthy 6.1% increase compared to November 2022. Remarkably, the airport also experienced a surge in international passengers, likely driven by the inaugural Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix. The number of international passengers in November reached 265,664, marking an impressive 11.6% rise from the previous year’s total of 237,980.

The continuous growth in the number of international passengers throughout the year is particularly remarkable. In comparison to the same period last year, there has been a substantial 28.1% increase, indicating a steady recovery from the global effects of the pandemic. These figures demonstrate the airport’s vital role in connecting Las Vegas to the rest of the world, whether for business, leisure, visiting loved ones, or attending special events.

Rosemary Vassiliadis, the Clark County director of aviation, expressed her satisfaction with the airport’s exceptional performance. She emphasized that Harry Reid Airport is the gateway to Las Vegas, serving travelers with various purposes and interests. Looking ahead, Vassiliadis shared that the airport team is already preparing for a busy start to 2024, anticipating continued success and growth.

The impressive record-breaking year of 2023 for Harry Reid Airport demonstrates its unwavering position as a leading transportation hub. With its highest number of passengers in a single year and a consistent upward trajectory, the airport showcases its ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry. As Las Vegas continues to draw visitors from all over the world, the importance of Harry Reid Airport in facilitating travel and bolstering tourism becomes even more evident. The airport’s remarkable achievements in 2023 lay a strong foundation for the future, setting the stage for further growth and success in the years to come.
