In a strategic move designed to streamline its offerings and enhance the customer experience, Celestyal, the Greek cruise line known for its immersive itineraries, is set to simplify its fare structure while introducing an innovative digital payment option. The changes come into effect with bookings starting December 11 for cruises that will commence on March 21.

Introduction of the Celestyal One Package

Replacing the previous Experience and Experience Plus packages, Celestyal will introduce the Celestyal One fare. This new package aims to provide a seamless cruise experience by incorporating essential amenities into the ticket price. Included in Celestyal One are basic WiFi, sufficient for browsing and social media use; unlimited non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, tea, juice, and water; and coverage for port fees, taxes, and crew gratuities. Notably, this change benefits all guests, as basic WiFi—which was previously limited to those who purchased the Experience Plus package—will now be available to everyone.

However, while Celestyal One expands its inclusivity regarding internet access, it does eliminate some perks that were part of the former packages. The new offering will not provide discounted rates for excursions that are booked in advance, a notable shift for those travelers who enjoyed saving on land activities. Furthermore, the move denotes a significant departure from an all-inclusive model, as all beverage packages are being phased out, prompting a new digital wallet system, CelestyalPay, for purchases of specialty dining and alcoholic beverages.

As part of Celestyal’s modernization efforts, the introduction of the CelestyalPay digital wallet offers an innovative touch to the onboard payment process. Travel advisors who promote this digital solution will earn a 10% commission on sales. Guests can benefit as well—when patrons preload their wallets with funds ahead of their cruise, they will receive bonus credits. For example, loading 1,000 euros allows the guest to receive an additional 250 euros in credits, providing an enticing incentive for early investment.

This shift to a digital wallet underlines a significant trend within the travel industry, moving towards cashless transactions and enhancing convenience for guests. This model streamlines onboard purchases and allows travelers to focus more on the enjoyment of their cruise experience.

In a remarkable show of commitment to improving guest experience, Celestyal is also enhancing its dining scene. More onboard eateries will be made complimentary, which includes the main dining option, Thalassa, the buffet restaurant, Taverna, and several casual dining spots designed for afternoon snacks. While the specialty restaurants—embodying diverse culinary influences such as South Asian, Mediterranean, and classic steakhouse fare—remain available for a fee, the strategy seems to position Celestyal as a more value-oriented choice in a competitive cruise market.

The emphasis on complimentary dining options aligns with Celestyal’s objective to cater to a broad demographic eager for quality without additional expense. The transformation of the Celestyal Discovery will include not only alterations to dining but also a significant increase in capacity by adding 47 new cabins, resulting in a total capacity of 1,300 guests. Guests will soon find a variety of accommodations, including the luxurious Grand Horizon Suites, Junior Dream Suites, and additional Cosmos Cabins, further enhancing the appeal of the cruise experience.

Celestyal’s changes don’t just stop at dining and digital innovations; they also extend to luxury offerings for premium guests. For those staying in Grand Horizon and Grand Dream suites, exclusive amenities will be unveiled, including access to private dining experiences and wellness features—such as a Thermal Spa Suite with various relaxation options—showcasing the cruise line’s dedication to exceptional guest satisfaction.

These changes reflect Celestyal’s desire to adapt to shifting consumer preferences while maintaining its core offerings. By increasing inclusivity, introducing modern payment methods, and enhancing both dining and accommodation options, Celestyal aims to solidify its position as a leading cruise line that caters to both adventure seekers and those looking for relaxation in the Mediterranean sun.
