The Rockley: A New Experience in Barbados

The Rockley: A New Experience in Barbados

When it comes to hotels, first impressions are everything. For years, the South Beach Hotel in Barbados may have caused confusion among travelers looking for a beachside getaway in Miami Beach. Sensing the need for a rebrand, CEO Patricia Affonso Dass of Ocean Hotels Barbados group took action and transformed the 49-room boutique hotel into The Rockley. Located near Bridgetown, the redesigned hotel offers a higher element of native authenticity, showcasing the works of local artists in the lobby and featuring a mural with Bajan symbols like sheep, chickens, and dominoes. In-room items are also adorned with Bajan phrases, creating a more immersive experience for guests.

Accommodations and Amenities

The Rockley offers two room options for guests: junior suites with kitchenettes or 700-square-foot, one-bedroom suites with full kitchens and separate living areas. The renovation included the addition of an outdoor covered bar area, exuding a trendy beach vibe and providing daily and nightly entertainment. The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast and all-day menu items, with plans to introduce dinner service later in the year. To further enhance the guest experience, The Rockley has launched a Dine and Sign program, allowing guests to dine at off-site partner restaurants and charge their meals back to their rooms. The hotel’s location near the vibrant Saint Lawrence Gap district offers guests easy access to nightlife and dining options.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, Dass believes that the best way to experience a destination is by venturing outside the hotel. The Rockley encourages guests to explore Barbados by partnering with local restaurants and offering discounted meal passes for its sister hotels. By embracing the local culture and cuisine, the hotel aims to provide guests with an authentic Barbadian experience. To promote the new resort and its sister properties, Ocean Hotels Barbados has created a Facebook group page for travel advisors, providing them with resort information along with social media content to share with their clients.

Room rates at The Rockley start at $250 and include breakfast. Ocean Hotels Barbados offers a 12% commission and award points to travel advisors who book through their OceanHotelsRewards website. By offering incentives to travel advisors, the hotel group hopes to attract more bookings and increase awareness of their properties in Barbados.

The Rockley offers a fresh and immersive experience for guests seeking a unique stay in Barbados. With its authentic decor, local partnerships, and commitment to providing exceptional service, The Rockley sets itself apart as a must-visit destination on the south coast of the island.
