The Impact of the Carnival Firenze on Carnival Cruise Line’s Position in California

Carnival Cruise Line recently introduced the Carnival Firenze, further solidifying its leading position as a cruise line in California. This 5,000-guest ship joined the Carnival Panorama and Carnival Radiance to offer year-round sailings from Long Beach. The addition of the Firenze is set to increase the number of guests embarking from Long Beach by over 100,000 compared to the previous year.

The Carnival Firenze, like its sister ship the Carnival Venezia, was previously a Costa ship and now brings “Carnival Fun Italian Style” to the fleet. Hollywood actor Jonathan Bennett was the Firenze’s godfather in a ceremony before its maiden voyage, which included a seven-day cruise to popular destinations.

After being built in 2020, the Firenze underwent a 49-day drydock to integrate Carnival Fun Italian Style features into its design. This update ensures that guests can experience a unique and enjoyable cruise experience onboard the ship.

In the upcoming year, Carnival Cruise Line plans to embark over 750,000 guests from Long Beach on more than 200 sailings. This significant increase in the number of guests highlights the popularity and demand for Carnival cruises departing from California.

The debut of the Carnival Firenze has had a significant impact on Carnival Cruise Line’s position in California. With the addition of this new ship and the increase in sailings from Long Beach, Carnival continues to offer unforgettable cruise experiences to guests looking to explore the beauty of the Pacific coast.
