Air India Introduces New Airbus A350-900 on U.S. Routes

Air India has recently announced the introduction of new Airbus A350-900 aircraft on two U.S. routes, aiming to enhance the travel experience for passengers. The new plane will be operated daily on New York JFK-Delhi flights starting from November 1st, and five times per week on Newark-Delhi flights beginning on January 2nd. This deployment will bring Air India’s premium economy class to the New York and Newark routes, providing passengers with additional comfort and luxury during their journey.

The Airbus A350 aircraft features a premium economy class on the New York and Newark routes, with 24 seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration. This cabin offers extra legroom and wider seats compared to economy class, ensuring a more comfortable travel experience for passengers. Additionally, the A350 aircraft boasts 28 suites in the business class, each equipped with full-flat beds in a 1-2-1 configuration. These suites offer direct aisle access, sliding privacy doors, and personal wardrobes, providing a luxurious and private space for passengers to relax during their flight.

All seats on the A350 aircraft are equipped with the latest-generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screens that offer a wide range of entertainment content from around the world. This ensures that passengers are entertained throughout their journey, with access to movies, TV shows, music, and more at their fingertips. The deployment of the A350 aircraft will see 60% of all Air India flights to the U.S. featuring new or upgraded cabin interiors, further enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.

In addition to the Airbus A350, Air India operates three-class Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on nonstop flights between India (Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru) and San Francisco, with upgraded cabin interiors. Premium economy seats are available on these flights, providing passengers with a range of options to suit their travel needs. Furthermore, Air India operates a three-class Boeing 777-300ER on all flights to Mumbai from New York JFK and Newark, featuring first-class suites, full-flat beds in business class, and economy class seats.

Currently, Air India serves five U.S. gateways: New York JFK, Newark, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The introduction of new aircraft and cabin interiors on these routes demonstrates Air India’s commitment to providing passengers with a premium travel experience. With the deployment of the Airbus A350 on U.S. routes, passengers can look forward to enhanced comfort, luxury, and entertainment during their journey with Air India.
