Similarly, MSC Cruises has decided to reroute one of its ships, the MSC Poesia. This vessel is currently on a 115-day world cruise from Rome, which began on January 4th. The original itinerary included crossing through the Suez Canal on January 16th. However, in light of the recent attacks, MSC Cruises will change the route for the first part of the cruise and circumnavigate Africa instead of passing through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. The later portions of the itinerary will remain unchanged, ensuring that passengers have a seamless and enjoyable cruise experience.
While Silversea and MSC Cruises have taken proactive measures, other cruise lines are adopting a wait-and-see approach since their ships have not yet reached the affected region. Spring is typically a busier time for cruise ships in the Suez Canal, making it essential for these cruise lines to monitor the situation closely.
