The airline’s Managing Director of Sales Technology and Global Sales Support, Sara Reid, emphasized that Delta is in no rush to implement a GDS surcharge or remove content prematurely from systems using legacy Edifact technology. This deliberate approach sets Delta apart from its competitors.

In order to ensure a successful transition to NDC, Delta has engaged in discussions with various stakeholders such as travel agencies, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), and corporate clients. By taking the time to thoroughly understand their unique needs and challenges, Delta aims to provide a comprehensive NDC solution that enhances servicing capabilities.

Unlike American and United, Delta has been cautious in its approach to NDC adoption. These advisors have reported difficulties in servicing NDC-enabled airline tickets, prompting Delta to prioritize a seamless transition to NDC.
