Virgin Voyages is poised to take a significant step in redefining cruise experiences with an extensive upgrade planned for its flagship vessel, the Scarlet Lady. Initially launched in 2021, this innovative cruise ship is scheduled for a drydock refurbishment from November 13 to 28, during which it will undergo remarkable enhancements to its suite offerings and onboard amenities. These changes are designed to appeal to a diverse clientele seeking both luxury and unique dining options.
One of the standout features of the refurbishment will be the introduction of 24 “Seriously Suite” RockStar Quarters. These lavish accommodations will be reconfigured from existing Sea Terrace cabins on Deck 11, each occupying a generous 352 square feet. Designed with contemporary luxury in mind, the RockStar Quarters will feature a plush European king bed, a peekaboo shower that offers a bold visual connection to the living space, and an array of entertainment options including in-room records and vinyl. Furthermore, guests will find a fully stocked bar and a relaxing Yellow Leaf hammock, creating an enticing blend of comfort and sophistication.
The Scarlet Lady’s culinary offerings will also receive a substantial upgrade. The beloved Razzle Dazzle restaurant, celebrated for its plant-based brunch selections, will evolve into Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle for evening service. This new concept will showcase an enticing Chinese-inspired menu coupled with bespoke craft cocktails, aiming to cater to adventurous palates. The dining experience will shift away from communal tables and toward more intimate booths, fostering a cozy ambiance for evening dining.
Additionally, the Ground Club Too coffee bar will transition into a full-service bar during the evening hours, providing a chic lounge area for guests to unwind. This dual-purpose venue reflects Virgin Voyages’ commitment to vibrant nightlife options for travelers seeking social interactions aboard the vessel.
To further enhance the onboard experience, Virgin Voyages will also be expanding its nonsmoking casino, adding more slot machines, gaming space, and exciting opportunities for guests to engage in a little friendly competition. This move is part of a broader strategy to create a lively atmosphere within the ship, appealing to a family of travelers spanning various interests.
On a wellness front, an exciting addition will be a couples treatment room in the spa, providing intimate spaces designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. This commitment to wellness is indicative of Virgin Voyages’ understanding of contemporary cruise travelers who seek both adventure and tranquility during their journeys.
Once the drydock enhancements are complete, Scarlet Lady will embark on a 16-night transatlantic crossing from Rome to Miami, setting the stage for its Caribbean voyages. The ship will offer enticing six-night itineraries in the Western Caribbean and eight-night voyages in the Eastern Caribbean, making stops at picturesque destinations such as St. Croix, Costa Maya, Roatan, San Juan, and Puerto Plata, in addition to Virgin’s exclusive beach club in Bimini.
These upgrades signal Virgin Voyages’ dedication to providing exceptional maritime experiences that blend luxury, culinary exploration, and entertainment in exciting new ways. As the Scarlet Lady prepares for its transformation, it sets a promising tone for the future of cruising.
