Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park is known for its incredible wildlife migration, but it is also becoming a hub for luxury accommodation options. Recently, two new properties have opened their doors, with a third one in development.
One of the new additions to the Serengeti is the One Nature Mara River Lodge, located in the northern part of the park near the Kogatende Airstrip. This lodge offers seven villas, including a two-bedroom presidential villa, all with stunning views of the Great Migration River Crossing. The lodge boasts contemporary African design, complete with private heated pools, outdoor lounge areas, and eco-friendly amenities like solar-powered air conditioners. Guests at the lodge can enjoy exclusive game drives, hot air balloon safaris, walking safaris, and nature-based wellness experiences. Rates start at $1,653 per night for a one-bedroom villa.
Another luxurious option in the Serengeti is the Singita Milele, a five-bedroom villa located on Sasakwa Hill. The villa offers panoramic views of the 350,000-acre Grumeti Reserve and features bespoke design inspired by the surrounding wildlife. Each suite in the villa has a unique layout and special features, while shared spaces include a cinema room, fitness center, and heated spa pools. Guests can enjoy private game drives, guided walks, wellness treatments, and curated wine tastings during their stay. Rates for the Singita Milele start at $26,250 per night for up to 10 guests.
Scheduled to open in July 2025, the TAASA Migration Camp is a mobile tented camp designed to follow the Great Migration. The camp will offer 12 suites, including options for families and groups, along with unlimited game drives, hot air balloon safaris, a lounge, bar tent, outdoor fire pit, and souvenir shop. Throughout the year, the camp will relocate to different regions such as Kogatende, Ndutu, and Musabi Plains to ensure guests are always close to the migrating herds. Rates for the camp start at $905 per person, sharing.
