Grupo Xcaret: Innovations and Expansion in the Riviera Maya Region

Grupo Xcaret, a major player in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, has been making waves with its latest innovation – the Xcaret Agents Pro Booking platform. This dedicated tool is designed to simplify the hotel reservation process for travel advisors, making it easier for them to access real-time availability and rates for all categories across Grupo Xcaret’s three properties.

The launch of the Xcaret Agents Pro Booking platform is a natural progression for Grupo Xcaret, as it builds upon their already existing tools for advisors. About 10 years ago, the Xcaret Sales Network was launched, offering a program for travel agents in North America to sell or presell activities to their clients. This new hotel tool complements that program, providing an easier way for agents to access information on hotels, tours, and other products offered by Grupo Xcaret.

Targeting Travel Advisors

When asked about the percentage of business that comes from advisors, Rodrigo Motavelazco, sales director for Grupo Xcaret’s Hoteles Xcaret hospitality division, stated that around 50% of their business comes from travel agents across different sales channels. This highlights the important role that travel advisors play in Grupo Xcaret’s overall strategy.

New Properties and Experiences

Grupo Xcaret has recently opened two new properties – the adults-only Hotel Xcaret Arte and the ultraluxe La Casa de la Playa. Both properties have been performing well, with Hotel Xcaret Arte attracting groups looking for conference venues and incentive travel options. The All-Fun Inclusive concept offered by Grupo Xcaret, which includes access to all parks and tours, has been a major selling point for these properties.

La Casa de la Playa, with its secluded location and private beach, has been a hit with celebrities seeking exclusivity and high-end service. With only 63 suites, this property offers a more intimate experience for guests looking for a luxury retreat.

Looking ahead, Grupo Xcaret is focused on expanding its flagship property, Hotel Xcaret Mexico. Plans are in place to add an additional 900 rooms by next fall, along with 10 new restaurants and a range of entertainment options. The hotel is also undergoing renovations to update existing rooms and will have a total of 1,800 new or renovated rooms by fall 2025.

In response to growing demand for larger group events, Grupo Xcaret is also doubling the size of its exposition and convention space at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. This expansion is aimed at accommodating buyouts and events such as sales conventions, product launches, and incentive trips.

Grupo Xcaret’s commitment to innovation and expansion is evident in their new tools for travel advisors, as well as the opening of new properties and the ongoing development of their flagship hotel. With these advancements, Grupo Xcaret is poised to remain a dominant force in the Riviera Maya region for years to come.
