JetBlue Expands Mint Service and Adds New Destinations

JetBlue is set to introduce its business class Mint cabin to three new destinations this summer and fall. The airline will be offering year-round Mint service between New York and Vancouver, as well as between New York JFK and San Juan. Additionally, lie-flat cabins will be added seasonally on flights from Boston and New York to Phoenix starting in late October. Furthermore, Mint-equipped Airbus A321 aircraft will be utilized next winter as JetBlue resumes flights between Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix for the first time since January 2023. The airline will also be enhancing its Mint offerings from Las Vegas, introducing business class cabins on twice-daily flights between Las Vegas and Fort Lauderdale during the winter season. This is in addition to the existing Mint service from Boston and New York to Las Vegas.

JetBlue is set to introduce three Caribbean destinations this fall: St. Vincent, Bonaire, and St. Croix. Flights to St. Vincent and Bonaire will be available from New York JFK, making JetBlue the only airline to fly to Bonaire from JFK. While launch dates and flight frequencies for these new routes have yet to be announced, the competition is already heating up. JetBlue will be up against Caribbean Airlines’ twice-weekly service on the New York-St. Vincent route. The airline will also be bringing back flights to the U.S. Virgin Islands destination of St. Croix on December 12, with daily San Juan service. This marks a return to a route JetBlue last serviced in January 2019, and they will be competing with weekly Frontier service, Silver Airways, and Cape Air.

JetBlue will be adding six new destinations from San Juan later this year, including Providence, R.I.; Westchester County, N.Y.; Cancun; Medellin, Colombia; and Santiago, Dominican Republic. The airline is strategically redeploying capacity within its network to accommodate these new routes and Mint services. This includes scaling back operations at New York LaGuardia Airport and reducing flights on underperforming routes. JetBlue’s expansion in San Juan comes as it competes for dominance in the market with Frontier, which is also expanding and opening a base at the airport next month.

JetBlue’s latest announcements showcase its commitment to growth and expansion in key markets. The addition of new Mint services and routes to popular leisure destinations demonstrate the airline’s focus on meeting the evolving needs of its customers. By strategically redeploying capacity and increasing competition in hotly contested markets, JetBlue is positioning itself for success in the coming months.
