MSC Cruises Introduces Blue Diamond Tier in Loyalty Program

MSC Cruises has unveiled an exciting new tier in its Voyagers Club loyalty program: the Blue Diamond tier. This development aims to provide more rewards and recognition to frequent cruisers while differentiating the benefits more distinctly across the various levels. Previously, the highest tier was the Diamond tier, achievable after amassing 10,000 points. With the introduction of Blue Diamond, guests will now need to earn a minimum of 25,000 points, positioning this new level as an exclusive designation within the loyalty framework.

This strategic addition was revealed during a special breakfast event at Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld, where Erin Douglas, MSC’s vice president of field sales, shared insights into the revamped rewards system. The emphasis on enhancing customer experience is clear, demonstrating MSC’s commitment to recognizing the loyalty and patronage of its guests.

The Blue Diamond tier is packed with an array of new benefits, significantly elevating the cruising experience. One of the standout perks includes privileged access to the luxurious MSC Yacht Club lounge during check-in and luggage drop-off. Normally restricted to Yacht Club guests, this provision allows Blue Diamond members to enjoy a more seamless and exclusive embarkation process, heralding an elite cruising atmosphere right from the start.

Additional perks for Blue Diamond members encompass features like My Choice dining in the main restaurant, which brings a degree of flexibility to dining arrangements. They will also have access to a complimentary Browse internet package, essential for today’s interconnected travelers, as well as shuttle-bus tickets in select ports, enhancing overall travel convenience. Perhaps the most notable experience is the opportunity for a meet-and-greet with the ship’s captain or an officer—an engaging gesture that personalizes the cruise experience and fosters a deeper connection with the crew.

Importantly, Blue Diamond members will also benefit from all the offerings enjoyed by Diamond-level members. This comprehensive suite includes priority boarding and disembarkation, access to exclusive specialty dining experiences, and complimentary amenities like bathrobes and slippers. It also includes an invitation to the convivial Diamond Party, a celebrated gathering that brings guests together for a vibrant night of fun and connection.

To further support engagement and progression within the loyalty program, MSC has decided to extend the duration of Voyagers Club memberships from three to five years. This allows cruisers ample time to accumulate points and ascend through the tiers, encouraging them to partake in the numerous experiences MSC has to offer over a more extended period.

MSC Cruises’ introduction of the Blue Diamond tier aligns with the industry’s push toward offering more personalized and rewarding experiences for loyal customers. By adding new perks and extending membership durations, MSC not only acknowledges its existing customers but actively encourages them to continue sailing with the cruise line. As MSC expands its services and territories, this enhanced loyalty program may well serve as a compass guiding devoted patrons through their future maritime adventures.
