Regent Seven Seas Cruises Introduces New Fare Structure

Regent Seven Seas Cruises Introduces New Fare Structure

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is set to launch a new fare structure this summer, aimed at providing guests with more flexibility when it comes to booking their cruise experience. The new pricing system, which will go into effect for bookings made on or after July 1, offers guests the option to choose between a cruise-only fare or an ultimate all-inclusive fare.

The cruise-only price includes the line’s standard inclusions such as unlimited shore excursions, dining, and WiFi. Additionally, guests staying in high-end accommodations will receive one-night pre-cruise hotel accommodations and butler service as part of the package. However, this fare does not include air travel or transfers, making it ideal for travelers who prefer to book their transportation independently.

Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare

On the other hand, the ultimate all-inclusive fare allows guests to select from a range of air travel options including first class, business class, premium, or economy. This fare also includes coach transfers from the airport to the ship, along with a $500 credit per suite for private executive transfers through Blacklane chauffeur service. The credit can be used for up to 10 days pre-cruise or 10 days post-cruise, covering two transfers up to 50 miles each in an SUV or minivan, with the capacity to carry five pieces of luggage.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises President Andrea DeMarco believes that the introduction of the lower entry price will appeal to travelers who typically sail on premium cruise lines. The goal is to entice these guests to experience a luxury cruise without the added cost of airfare and transfers. This move is seen as an opportunity for travel partners to emphasize luxury and tailor the experience to meet the unique preferences of their clients.

Commission and Terms

While the new fare types will be available on all cruises, reservations made before July 1 will remain unchanged with the amenities originally selected. The change in fare structure will not impact the commission for travel advisors since the air portion of the purchase is non-commissionable. This new pricing model comes shortly after Silversea introduced a similar system for its luxury cruise product, offering discounted nonrefundable fares that exclude shore excursions and require full payment at the time of booking.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ decision to revamp its fare structure reflects a growing trend in the cruise industry towards providing more flexibility and options for guests. The new pricing system aims to attract a wider range of travelers while still maintaining the luxury experience that the cruise line is known for.
