The Dawn of a New Era for Hornblower Group: Mike Flaskey Steps in as CEO

After the recent completion of its bankruptcy proceedings, Hornblower Group has appointed hotel industry executive Mike Flaskey as its new CEO. Flaskey takes over the reins from Kevin Rabbitt, who had been in the role since June 2020.

Flaskey comes to Hornblower Group with a wealth of experience in the hotel industry, having previously served as the CEO of Diamond Resorts. His leadership roles at Wyndham Vacation Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts have prepared him well for this new challenge. Additionally, Flaskey’s work as a senior advisor to McKinsey Travel, Leisure & Infrastructure and Capital Vacations has given him a broad perspective on the industry as a whole.

Following its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, Hornblower Group is focused on growth and innovation under new ownership. Strategic Value Partners, the private equity firm that acquired the company, sees Flaskey’s appointment as a positive step forward. According to Jonathan Waggoner, Flaskey’s vision for the future aligns well with the company’s goals, setting the stage for continued success.

Flaskey himself is enthusiastic about the potential for growth at Hornblower Group. He recognizes the company’s commitment to providing unique experiences for millions of guests each year and sees endless opportunities for expansion. With a focus on experience-based initiatives, Flaskey is poised to lead the company into its next phase of development.

Gratitude for the Past

As Flaskey takes the helm, the company acknowledges Kevin Rabbitt’s contributions during his tenure. Hornblower Group credits Rabbitt with helping to achieve key milestones and position the company for future success. The transition from Rabbitt to Flaskey represents a new chapter for the company, building on past achievements while looking to the future.

With Flaskey at the helm, Hornblower Group is poised for continued growth and innovation. The company’s diverse portfolio of land and water-based operations, including City Experiences, City Cruises, and City Ferry, provides a solid foundation for expansion. As Flaskey leads the company into a new era, the opportunities for success are boundless.
