Universal Studios has announced the addition of a new Harry Potter-themed section at their Epic Universe park, promising an unforgettable experience for fans of the beloved wizarding world. The new attraction, named Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, is set to be the most ambitious ride Universal has ever created. Guests will be taken on a journey through time and space, from 1920s Paris to the British Ministry of Magic, using the Metro-Floo transport system inspired by the Floo Network in the Harry Potter films.
Upon arrival at the British Ministry of Magic, guests will be immersed in a captivating narrative centered around the trial of Dolores Umbridge, the infamous witch who briefly took control of Hogwarts during Harry Potter’s time at the school. Visitors will navigate through the Ministry’s atrium and various departments before boarding magical omnidirectional lifts to witness the trial. However, chaos ensues as Umbridge attempts to escape, leading Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Higgledy the house elf on a thrilling chase filled with unexpected twists and turns.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Epic Universe will encompass five distinct worlds, each offering a unique and enchanting experience for guests. Upon entering the Harry Potter-themed section, visitors will find themselves in a Muggle park in Paris, before stepping into the wizarding shopping district of Place Cachee, set in the 1920s. Here, guests can explore Haussmann-style buildings housing shops, cafes, and interactive experiences, such as wand-casting spells and encounters with characters from the Harry Potter universe.
One of the highlights of the new attraction is Le Cirque Arcanus, a full-scale theater show featuring live performers, aerialists, and puppetry, all set against a backdrop of magical beasts and captivating special effects. The show follows the story of Ringmaster Skender and his quest to rescue creatures from the clutches of Skender, offering guests a truly immersive and engaging entertainment experience.
In addition to its immersive storytelling and entertainment offerings, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Epic Universe will boast a variety of themed eateries to delight visitors’ taste buds. From French cafes like Cafe L’Air De La Sirene to shadowy eateries like Le Gobelet Noir, guests can indulge in a wide range of culinary delights inspired by the wizarding world. For fans of Butterbeer, the iconic beverage will be available at the Bierauberre cart inside Place Cachee, offering a taste of magic in every sip.
No visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be complete without picking up a souvenir to commemorate the experience. Guests can browse merchandise locations such as Les Galeries Mirifiques for wizarding gear, K. Rammelle for French confectionary treats, and Tour En Floo for a variety of magical gifts. Merchandise themed to the Ministry of Magic is currently on sale at the Universal Epic Universe Preview Center, giving fans an exclusive opportunity to bring a piece of the wizarding world home with them.
