Markets like Colombia, which heavily depend on international visitors, are feeling the effects of delayed visa processing. Los Angeles exemplifies the uneven nature of the international travel recovery in the U.S. The city experienced a decline in international visitors from its Asia-Pacific markets, leading to a staggered revival. Adam Burke, CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, emphasized the city’s focus on markets with recovered air service and visa waiver status, such as the U.K., Ireland, and Australia/New Zealand. While Los Angeles remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of markets like China, the road to full recovery may take several years.
