This departure from the all-inclusive pricing standard has raised eyebrows in the industry. Nils Lindstad, the vice president of business development and sales excellence for Four Season Yachts, explained that this pricing model is more aligned with the approach of Four Seasons hotels and resorts.

The decision to charge per suite instead of per person further emphasizes the brand’s departure from the traditional cruise model. Prices for suites will range from just under $3,000 per night to an extravagant $45,000 per night for the luxurious four-deck, 10,000-square-foot suite. While meals are not included, guests can enjoy breakfast, nonalcoholic drinks, WiFi, watersports activities, and the use of marina toys as part of the package. The approach is aimed at high net worth individuals and is a result of extensive research and feedback from advisors and consumers.

Despite the innovative approach, the a la carte pricing strategy has received mixed reactions from luxury cruise specialists. Some have expressed skepticism and reluctance to sell the product due to its departure from the all-inclusive trend in the industry. Dennis Nienkerk, a luxury travel advisor, called the pricing model “insane” and stated that he would not sell it to clients. Mary Jean Tully, CEO of Tully Luxury Travel, echoed similar sentiments, noting that customers prefer all-inclusive packages.

Four Seasons Yachts aims to carve out a unique space in the luxury cruise market by differentiating itself from other brands. With former Azamara CEO Larry Pimentel at the helm, the brand promises a new category of luxury lifestyle travel onboard a 95-suite ship sailing in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. While the pricing model may evolve in the future, the brand’s focus on appealing to ultra-high-end consumers sets it apart from traditional luxury cruise offerings.

The entry of Four Seasons Yachts into the cruise market follows a trend of hotel brands expanding into cruising. Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Aman have already made their mark in the industry, catering to high-end clientele. Four Seasons Yachts’ unique approach and commitment to offering a differentiated experience position it as a contender in the luxury cruise market. Despite changes in leadership within the company, the launch of the brand remains on track, with plans for future expansion and growth.
