Erbert & Gerbert’s Expands Campus Presence with Two New University Locations
New Sodexo-operated locations at the University of Central Missouri and Indiana Wesleyan University will introduce the brand to a new generation of sandwich fans
Eau Claire, WI (Restaurant News Release) Erbert & Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop, founded in Eau Claire in 1988 and known for its distinctive sandwiches, soups and quirky brand personality, today announced the opening of two new non-traditional university locations operated by Sodexo, a global food services and facilities management company headquartered in France that provides dining, catering, workplace services, housekeeping, maintenance, and related support services for businesses, hospitals, schools and universities, senior living communities, government agencies, and other large organizations.
The first location opened September 3 in the Elliott Student Union at the University of Central Missouri, 116 W. South Street, Warrensburg, Missouri this month. A second location is under construction in the Barnes Student Center at Indiana Wesleyan University, 4201 S. Washington Street, Marion, Indiana.
The openings advance Erbert & Gerbert’s strategy to build brand awareness, expand its footprint, strengthen franchisee collaboration and increase market-level advertising impact. The company currently has 57 non-traditional locations, with an additional three to four sites in development.
“These non-traditional locations on college and university campuses are a great way to introduce the Erbert & Gerbert’s brand to a whole new generation of sandwich lovers,” said Eric Wolfe, Chief Development Officer of Erbert & Gerbert’s. “We create brand enthusiasts during their college years, and they continue as loyal customers of our traditional locations after graduation. We plan to open several more such locations in 2027.”
Erbert & Gerbert’s recently assembled a leadership team that combines deep brand knowledge with quick-service restaurant experience. Wolfe, who acquired the system with an investment group in 2004, is joined by President and CEO Mark Kocer and COO Randy Ashbrook, both QSR industry veterans.
