Mo’ Bettahs Makes Arizona Debut With New Gilbert Location
Popular Hawaiian-style restaurant brings aloha spirit to the Valley on May 4
Gilbert, AZ (Restaurant News Release) Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food is opening its first-ever Arizona restaurant on May 4 at 5378 S Power Road in Gilbert, marking a major milestone as the brand enters a new state and continues its nationwide expansion. The opening introduces Arizona guests to Mo’ Bettahs’ signature Hawaiian plate lunch experience, rooted in island tradition, family and community.
Guests will be welcomed ahead of opening day with Friends and ‘Ohana celebration events on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2. Both days will include lunch service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., along with music, prizes, free swag and appearances from the founders.
Saturday’s evening celebration will expand into a full block party featuring a classic VW car show, yard games, vendor booths and community activities, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony taking place at 5:30 p.m. prior to dinner service. The official grand opening on Monday, May 4, will feature a buy-one-get-one-free offer on regular plates, with the promotion mentioned at the register.
The Gilbert restaurant is the brand’s first in Arizona, and reflects Mo’ Bettahs’ continued growth as part of a broader development pipeline announced this year. This expansion follows a period of rapid momentum for the brand, including entry into three new markets and its 18th consecutive year of same-store sales growth.
Founded in 2008 by Hawai‘i-born brothers Kimo and Kalani Mack, the brand continues to scale its corporate-led expansion while staying rooted in culture and hospitality.
“Bringing Mo’ Bettahs to Arizona is about more than expansion,” said Kalani Mack, co-founder of Mo’ Bettahs. “It is about sharing the food and traditions of Hawai‘i with a community that already values a great plate lunch. We grew up on these flavors. We grew up around the table where ‘ono grindz and hospitality come together. Every new restaurant gives us a chance to welcome guests into our ‘ohana in a way that feels genuine and authentic.”
Mo’ Bettahs transports guests straight to the islands with its authentic Hawaiian-style food made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu features traditional staples like the renowned plate lunch, featuring grilled teriyaki chicken or steak, kalua pig, pulehu chicken, katsu chicken or shrimp tempura – all paired with the brand’s delicious macaroni salad and steamed rice.
The Gilbert location will operate Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closed on Sundays. To learn more and to view the full menu, visit MoBettahs.com.
