(Restaurant News Release) National Franchise Sales (NFS) announces the retirement of long-term franchise advisors Barry and Lisa Burke following 18 years with the firm.
Barry brings 40 years of experience in the franchise industry, with a career spanning restaurant ownership, franchise development, finance, operations, and business acquisitions. Since joining NFS in 2008 as Managing Director of the firm’s Southwest Regional Office in Dallas, Barry has worked with clients throughout the U.S., bringing a practical understanding of restaurant operations and acquisition financing to his advisory work.
Over the course of his career, Barry has owned numerous franchised and independent restaurants and has been involved in thousands of transactions. Known for his knowledge, professionalism, and approachable style, Barry has built lasting relationships with franchisees, buyers, sellers, and fellow industry professionals.
Alongside Barry throughout his years at NFS has been his wife, Lisa Burke, has been an integral part of their advisory work and the relationships they have built together. Lisa has worked directly with franchise buyers and sellers, helping clients navigate the process of buying and selling franchise businesses and supporting transactions from initial conversations through closing. Her understanding of the franchise resale market, attention to clients, and ability to build strong relationships have made her a valued advisor to the NFS team and the clients she has served.
Together, Barry and Lisa have spent nearly two decades advising franchisees and buyers, connecting people and opportunities across the industry, and helping clients successfully navigate franchise transactions. Their partnership has been a meaningful part of the NFS team and the relationships they have developed over the years.
