Totally Toasted in Casper: Cheba Hut Sparks Up Second Wyoming Joint

Rapidly-growing sub shop lights up Heathrow Avenue with flavor, art and counterculture energy

Casper, WY  (Restaurant News Release)  Casper’s sandwich scene just got a little more elevated with the arrival of Cheba Hut, a “toasted” sub restaurant that is in the business of taming munchies – and business is booming.

Located at 1668 Heathrow Ave., the new spot sits near Fun Valley Park, Susie McMurry Park and Casper Country Club, making it a convenient stop for grabbing some grub before hitting the links or heading out to play a pick-up game with the homies at one of the parks’ rec centers. The Casper location is slated to open May 1.

To spark things up on opening day, the Casper Hut is rolling out a proper welcome for the homies. The crew will kick things off with a ribbon-cutting, followed by a $420 cash drop. Swing through early to snag some exclusive Cheba Hut swag, soak up the vibes and be among the first to get your hands on a fully toasted sub. No fluff, no gimmicks, just good food, good people and an opening day done the Cheba way.

For homies new to Cheba Hut, the menu goes far beyond the standard handheld fare. Cheba Hut serves more than 30 signature toasted subs – available in Nug (4-inch), Pinner (8-inch) and Blunt (12-inch) sizes and inspired by classic cannabis strains, including fan favorites like:

• The White Widow – a go-to loaded with chicken, bacon and ranch, toasted until melty and craveable.
• The Kali Mist – a spicy club-style sub with turkey, bacon and pepper jack for homies who like a little heat.
• The Dank – a pizza-inspired sub stacked with pepperoni, salami, marinara and melted mozzarella.
• The Griefo – a veggie-forward favorite loaded with cream cheese, avocado and fresh greens.

The menu also features classic munchies such as garlic cheese bread, pretzel nugs and French Onion Soup, plus sweet treats like Krispy Bars and cookies. Oh yeah, and the list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the cottonmouth-curing Kool-Aid selection on tap which homies can get in Grape, Fruit Punch or Blue Raspberry Lemonade.

The shop’s centerpiece mural was designed by Zak Pullen, a local Wyoming artist who blends Cheba Hut’s signature counterculture style with inspiration from Casper’s rich history. Designed with a subtle treasure map undertone, the artwork pays tribute to the area while giving guests something fun to explore while they wait for their subs to get toasted.

Locally owned by hometown hero Allen Jennings, the new location marks his first Cheba Hut. Drawn to the brand years ago,  Jennings says the culture, food and community focus made the concept a natural fit for Casper.

“Opening my first Cheba Hut here means a lot,” said Jennings. “Life in Casper is all about community networking and building relationships with our neighbors. I wanted this shop to feel easy and welcoming, a place where people can slow down, relax and enjoy great food with chill vibes.”

The Casper Hut will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
