Wyndham Rewards Experiences: What You Need To Know
Wyndham Experiences was introduced in mid-2025 by the legacy hotel loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards. While you won’t see that many Wyndham-branded properties in North America, classic budget chains like Super 8, Days Inn, Travelodge, Ramada, and La Quinta are all participants in the Wyndham Rewards ecosystem.
Redeeming your points directly for experiences in the aptly titled Wyndham Rewards Experiences program is a new addition to the already available redemption options in the loyalty program, and surprisingly, there’s some great value to be had!
What Are Wyndham Rewards Experiences?
Wyndham Rewards Experiences are events that Wyndham Rewards members can redeem their points for. Wyndham is associated with or has sponsored these events in some way, and they are related to sports, culinary experiences, or concerts. Wyndham has a corporate sponsorship of Madison Square Garden, so many of the experiences revolve around the famed arena in New York City.
Auctions sometimes last only 24 hours, so you’ll need to act quickly if there’s an experience you’re interested in!
They seem to be ramping up their offerings with some really neat stuff, like a two-night hotel stay at a four-star property in Miami and a private-chef prepared Latin omakase dinner for only 30,000 points! The hotel nights alone are likely worth 30,000 points, never mind what’s sure to be a mind-blowing dinner.
There are some sky-high auctions that close in the 100,000 point range, but Bon Jovi tickets and one night at a Times Square hotel for only 45,000 points is a steal.

How To Redeem Wyndham Rewards for Experiences
Redeeming is simple; head to the dedicated portal here. You’ll then be able to see which experiences you can redeem points for immediately under the Redeem section, and which experiences you need to bid for and win in an auction.
You’ll need to have enough points in your account before you bid on anything, and if you don’t have enough, Wyndham will direct you to buy points from them at an unattractive rate. Occasionally, Wyndham runs sales that let you purchase points at 0.7 USD per point, which is quite attractive! If you want to see if there are any current bonus promotions, you can purchase Wyndham Rewards points here.
If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One Miles, or Citi ThankYou Points, you can transfer them directly to Wyndham Rewards points. But this is poor value, given that you can cash out your points as a statement credit at 1 cent per point and then purchase Wyndham points when they’re on sale.
If you’re bidding on an experience, you’ll be notified by email if you’re outbid, and of course, when you win!
My Experience Redeeming Points with Wyndham Rewards Experiences
I had racked up about 46,000 Wyndham points after staying at a particular Super 8 many times during a work contract in 2025. The trouble that I found with Wyndham points is that many of the Wyndham hotels to redeem for a free night in the US and Canada are usually cheap to book with cash, so redeeming points was never a great value.
Plus, when I’m travelling with my wife, we generally stay at mid- to upper-range hotels rather than the budget properties Wyndham offers. So while I was thrilled to have a new points balance, I was unsure how I would find value in them!
I stumbled across Wyndham Experiences through some email marketing, and one of my new favorite redemptions was born! Because I live in NYC, the Madison Square Garden events were particularly compelling as they’re just a short subway ride away. Redeeming for Toronto Maple Leafs versus New York Rangers tickets seemed appropriate considering I’ve got extended family in Toronto, and there were no options for my hometown team, the Winnipeg Jets.
It’s important to note that these particular sets of tickets are in the Redeem section of the experiences, meaning you don’t have to bid; it’s simply an outright purchase!

I didn’t receive any email confirmation right away that I had purchased anything, but after the points were deducted from my account, I was shown a screen stating that tickets would be sent to me 1-2 days before the event.
Sure enough, I got an email 2 days before gameday that included a Microsoft Word document with some important info about arriving at the stadium. Hilarious, it wasn’t in a PDF.

In a separate email, there was a link to accept my tickets, and the process to get them into my Ticketmaster account was relatively simple as well.

Interestingly, I was given the option to sell my tickets, which goes directly against the terms and conditions of the Wyndham Experience program. But quickly, they were in my account, and I checked to see the cash value out of curiosity. The only comparable I found was over $1,200 USD for a pair!
While I wouldn’t have spent $1,200 on these tickets, you’d be hard-pressed to find a hotel redemption for 40,000 Wyndham Rewards that has a cash value close to that, if not impossible.

We had an excellent time at the game, with lower-bowl seats close to the ice that included in-seat food and beverage service if you choose not to leave your seat to purchase food. To be clear, it wasn’t like a suite where all F&B was included; you still had to pay for your snacks, but they were delivered right to you. We even saw an appearance by Wyndham on the Jumbotron!

The Best Ways To Earn Wyndham Rewards Points for Experiences
As mentioned earlier in the article, I earned all my Wyndham points naturally by staying at hotels for work. But you do earn points at a decent clip, with 10 points for every USD or a minimum of 1,000 points per stay.
In part, Wyndham was running an excellent promotion at the end of 2025 that granted 7,500 points for every 2 nights stayed, up to a maximum of 30,000 points. That same promotion is running in 2026, but you need to subscribe to Wyndham Insiders at $95 USD per year. If you have travel that lines up with Wyndham properties, it’s an excellent rebate, as 7,500 points are worth about $75 CAD, meaning a $100/night property effectively gives a 42% return in points! ($85 CAD Points Value/$200 CAD cash outlay).
Buying points on sale is likely the best way for points and miles enthusiasts to rack up enough points for a redemption at Wyndham Experiences, as transferring from Chase, Citi, or Capital One offers poor value compared to using points to offset the cost of buying points with a statement credit. Unless there was a 40% bonus when transferring, it’s always better to purchase on sale.
You can also earn Wyndham Rewards points by signing up for the Wyndham Credit Cards issued by Barclays, as there are three available.
ITIN users can have problems with Barclays Bank in the US, so it may not be worth your trouble. If you do manage to get your hands on a Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card, it earns 8 Wyndham points per dollar on gas purchases. There is definitely some opportunity for creative spending with gift cards!
Conclusion
Wyndham Experiences offers some amazing deals for niche activities that can provide excellent value for Wyndham Rewards members who are interested in redeeming their points for something other than a free night. While Wyndham Rewards points are harder to earn than many other hotel rewards program points, understanding the experiential side of redemption can be an excellent addition to your points and miles knowledge database.
