Accor Is Bringing Movenpick and MGallery to India: Exclusive

Nine months after taking charge of Accor’s South Asia business, CEO Ranju Alex believes the hotel group’s next phase will be driven by introducing a wider mix of its global brands into India.
In an exclusive interview with Skift, Alex confirmed that the group has signed Movenpick for India and is “on the verge” of signing MGallery. In November, it plans to open the Hoxton in Bengaluru. Accor is evaluating three to four additional brands.
“We have 45 brands globally. We only have nine in India today,” she said.
The opening of Roswyn in Mumbai this May marked Ennismore’s first Morgans Originals hotel. Alex said the India market has matured enough to absorb a much more diversified hospitality portfolio.
“The slate is open for us,” she said. “What surprises me is the fact that there are markets opening up that we never ever thought would.”
