Airbnb Leads $58 Million WeRoad Funding for U.S. Expansion

Airbnb led a $58 million Series C funding round for European tour and experience platform WeRoad Wednesday — a day after announcing it had hired its CEO to lead Airbnb hotels.

With the deal and partnership, Airbnb gets a 10% stake in WeRoad and a board seat alongside its new VP of hotels, Andrea D’Amico. In addition to serving as WeRoad CEO since 2022, D’Amico worked as a top Booking.com hotel executive in EMEA for 18 years.

WeRoad, which operates multiday tours and has a platform for tour guides operating experiences, could help Airbnb scale its experiences business.
