Travel Tips for Peak Season
To help ensure a smoother travel experience during this high-demand season, Avianca encourages customers to keep the following recommendations in mind:
Prevent fraud when booking travel: Customers should always use official channels, such as avianca.com, Lifemiles.com, the Contact Center, ticket offices or authorized agencies, to help ensure secure transactions. Travelers should also be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true, as extremely low fares promoted on social media or messaging apps are often signs of a scam. Before making any payment, it is important to verify the URL to ensure the website is legitimate.
Check flight status: Travelers can check their flight status at avianca.com, through the official Avianca app or via notifications sent by email and WhatsApp.
Check in early: Customers are encouraged to check in starting 48 hours before departure, or 24 hours before departure for flights to or from the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.
Arrive at the airport early: To avoid delays or setbacks, customers are encouraged to arrive two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
Verify travel documents: Customers should confirm in advance that all required travel documents are valid and in order, including passports, visas or any certificates required by their destination.
Transporting power banks: For safety reasons, power banks are permitted only in the cabin, with a maximum of two devices of up to 100 Wh each. They must remain under the passenger’s care and be individually protected. Items such as electronic cigarettes and lithium batteries must always be carried in a carry-on bag. Passengers are advised to keep these items visible while in use, avoid connecting them to aircraft ports and travel only with devices that are in good condition and from a reliable source.
