Dubai Lays Track Linking Hotels and a Mega-Airport Along the Way

By 2032, Dubai’s Metro network will be 25% larger — and a new $9.25 billion underground line will connect some of the city’s busiest hotel corridors to its new mega-airport.

The 42 kilometer (26.09 mile) Gold Metro line will “pass through 15 key areas across the city, serve approximately 1.5 million residents, and strengthen connectivity to 55 real estate developments under construction,” the emirate’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on X Wednesday. He called it “Dubai’s largest transportation project.”

A route map released by the Dubai Media Office showed the Gold Line will run from the south-west to the north of the city, stopping at 18 stations. The line will begin in Al Ghubaiba and terminate at Jumeirah Golf Estates, a terminal serving the UAE national railway Etihad Rail.
