FIJI SHINES ON THE GLOBAL STAGE WITH RECOGNITION ACROSS LEADING TRAVEL AWARDS | News

Fiji continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations, earning recognition across several prestigious international travel and marketing awards that celebrate destination excellence, innovative tourism marketing and industry leadership.
Leading the accolades, Fiji has been named the #1 Best Island in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and #7 Best Island in the World in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026.
Recognised as one of the travel industry’s most influential consumer awards, the annual rankings are based on the experiences and votes of readers from around the world, celebrating destinations that leave a lasting impression. The recognition reinforces Fiji’s reputation for its breathtaking natural beauty, authentic culture and warm hospitality.
Tourism Fiji’s destination marketing has also received international industry recognition, with the Wilson’s Happily Ever After campaign shortlisted in two categories at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards 2026 — Creative Excellence and Best Use of Content Marketing. The awards recognise outstanding creativity, strategic thinking and marketing effectiveness within the travel industry.
Adding to this success, Tourism Fiji’s Loloma Hour initiative has also been shortlisted as a finalist in the Tourism Impact Award at Mumbrella, recognising marketing-led initiatives that create positive social, cultural and environmental outcomes through tourism and encourage more responsible travel.
Fiji’s growing appeal among Chinese travellers has also been recognised through a series of prestigious tourism awards, reflecting the destination’s strong positioning across the leisure, luxury and business events sectors. Recent honours include Strategic Partnership Destination of the Year from Trip.com Group, Best Tourist Destination, Luxury Destination of the Year, Best Island MICE Destination of the Year, and The World’s Best Island Tourism Bureau, recognising both Fiji’s destination appeal and Tourism Fiji’s continued success in promoting the destination within this strategically important market.
Further reinforcing Fiji’s international standing, the destination has once again been nominated for Oceania’s Best Cruise Destination 2026 at the World Cruise Awards, following previous wins in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Dr Paresh Pant said, “These recognitions are a powerful endorsement of Fiji as a world-class tourism destination and reflect the collective commitment of our industry to delivering exceptional visitor experiences.”
“From global consumer rankings and international marketing awards to recognition in strategically important markets such as China, these achievements demonstrate the strength of the Fiji brand and the impact of our collaborative partnerships across the tourism sector,” Dr Pant said.
“As global competition for visitors continues to intensify, these accolades inspire us to keep innovating, investing in meaningful partnerships and showcasing the authentic experiences, warm hospitality and natural beauty that make Fiji truly unique. Together with our industry partners, we remain committed to ensuring Fiji continues to be a destination of choice for travellers from around the world.”
