Jamaica Inn appoints Owen Henry as General Manager

Jamaica Inn, one of the Caribbean’s most storied luxury resorts, is pleased to announce the appointment of Owen S. Henry Jr. as Hotel Manager. In his new role, Henry will oversee the resort’s day-to-day operations and guest experience initiatives, reporting to Kyle Mais, who was recently promoted to Managing Director and shareholder of Jamaica Inn.
With more than two decades of experience across Jamaica’s luxury and all-inclusive hospitality sector, Henry brings a proven track record of operational leadership, team development, and service excellence to the celebrated Ocho Rios property. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Jamaica Inn as the resort continues to build upon its longstanding reputation for understated luxury, personalized service, and timeless Caribbean hospitality.

Throughout his career, Henry has held senior leadership positions with Grand Palladium Resorts, Bahia Luxury Resorts, Sandy Haven Resorts, Royalton Resorts, and Sandals Royal Caribbean. His expertise spans all aspects of resort operations, including rooms division, food and beverage, guest services, quality assurance, human resources, training and development, and health and safety.

Recognized for his disciplined and people-focused management approach, Henry has consistently contributed to strengthening operational performance and elevating guest satisfaction throughout his career. Among his notable accomplishments, he helped elevate Grand Lido Negril from 69th to the number one ranked hotel in Negril on TripAdvisor, led Hideaway at Royalton Negril to a top-five ranking in the Caribbean, and contributed to a 35 percent improvement in P&L performance at Sandy Haven Resorts.

Henry’s leadership background includes executive operational oversight, budgeting and forecasting, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional team leadership, and supporting successful resort openings and repositionings. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Management from the College of Agriculture, Science and Education, with studies in Human Resource Management and Business Process and Economics, as well as an Associate of Science in Agricultural Science. He also holds several professional certifications in hospitality and operational management.
