Kuwait Airport Hit 48 Hours After Foreign Airlines Return

An Iranian drone and missile attack struck Kuwait early Wednesday, severely impacting operations at the country’s international airport.

Kuwaiti authorities said one person was killed and others were injured as the hub’s Terminal 1 was hit. The incident comes just two days after the airport reopened the building to international airlines.

Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation initially suspended all operations and diverted flights “until further notice,” activating the airport’s emergency plan after what it described as serious damage to a number of facilities.
