Scandic Moves Closer to Dalata Deal as Leadership Overhaul Begins

The CEO and deputy CEO of Dalata, Ireland’s largest homegrown hotel operator, will step down later this year, following a post-acquisition restructure of the business.
The announcement came as Scandic Hotels Group — which has managed Dalata properties since November — updated investors and analysts on the integration during its earnings call on Wednesday.
Dermot Crowley joined Dalata in December 2012 and became CEO in 2021. Under his leadership, the company added 16 hotels and 3,800 rooms across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Three more are due to open this year in Dublin, Edinburgh, and Berlin, with four more properties in the pipeline in London, Edinburgh, and Madrid.
