Uganda Tourism Board Joins the World Travel & Tourism Council as a Destination Partner

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is pleased to welcome the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) as a Destination Partner.

The Uganda Tourism Board is the government agency mandated to promote and market Uganda as a preferred tourism destination. In addition to destination marketing, UTB plays a central role in developing, coordinating, and regulating the tourism sector, supporting product development, and enhancing Uganda’s global competitiveness.

Headquartered in Kampala, Uganda’s capital and commercial hub, UTB works across the country with regional tourism clusters and local stakeholders to promote Uganda’s diverse attractions, including its renowned wildlife, rich cultural heritage, adventure experiences, and community-based tourism. Internationally, UTB engages in strategic partnerships, trade fairs, and global campaigns to position Uganda on the world stage.

Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said:
“We are delighted to welcome the Uganda Tourism Board as a Destination Partner of WTTC. Uganda offers some of the world’s most unique and diverse tourism experiences, from its extraordinary biodiversity to its vibrant cultural heritage. We look forward to working closely with UTB to support sustainable tourism growth and strengthen Uganda’s position as a leading destination in Africa and beyond.”

Juliana Kagwa, CEO of Uganda Tourism Board, said:
“Joining the World Travel & Tourism Council marks a great milestone in strengthening Uganda’s voice within the global tourism space. This partnership provides a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and positions Uganda as a competitive and sustainable destination on the world stage.”

As a Destination Partner, the Uganda Tourism Board will contribute to WTTC’s efforts to advance collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth across the Travel & Tourism sector, while promoting Uganda as a must-visit destination globally.
