Vietnam Airlines Enhances Northeast Asia Network to Meet Growing Travel Demand | News
As demand for travel, business, and family visits between Vietnam and Northeast Asia continues to grow, Vietnam Airlines is expanding services on routes to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan (China).
The additional services reinforce Vietnam Airlines’ commitment to enhancing connectivity between Vietnam and Northeast Asia while providing passengers with greater flexibility and more convenient travel options for tourism, business, family visits and trade.
From Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines will increase frequencies on the Taipei route from seven to 11 weekly flights. The Hanoi–Osaka service will be expanded from 7 to 11 weekly flights between October 26 and November 30, 2026, before increasing further to 14 weekly flights from December 1, 2026, equivalent to two daily services.
From Da Nang, the airline has strengthened its Northeast Asia network with the Da Nang–Seoul (Incheon) route increasing to 14 weekly flights from July 1. Services to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai) have also been increased to 11 and 5 weekly flights, respectively.
Vietnam Airlines is offering promotional round-trip fares starting from VND 7,724,000 (inclusive of taxes and fees) on the Hanoi–Taipei route and VND 14,660,000 on the Hanoi–Osaka route. The promotion is valid for tickets issued by July 31, 2026. Travel on the Hanoi–Taipei route must be completed by July 31, 2026, while travel on the Hanoi–Osaka route is valid through December 31, 2026. Lotusmiles members will also receive bonus miles based on their booking class.
Northeast Asia continues to be one of Vietnam Airlines’ strongest international markets, supported by robust demand across leisure, business, investment and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel segments.
According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance, South Korea was Vietnam’s second-largest international source market in the first six months of 2026, with more than 2.16 million visitor arrivals. Japan and Taiwan also continue to generate stable two-way passenger traffic, reflecting the growing economic, tourism and people-to-people links between Vietnam and Northeast Asia.
The latest frequency increases are part of Vietnam Airlines’ broader international network expansion strategy. In 2026, the airline launched new direct services to Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Phuket (Thailand) and Colombo (Sri Lanka), further strengthening Vietnam’s global connectivity.
By continuously expanding its international network, Vietnam Airlines aims to better serve rising passenger demand while supporting tourism, trade and economic cooperation between Vietnam and key international markets.
