Castille Paris Unveils La Terrazza: The Secret Courtyard Reopening this Summer | News

As summer arrives in the French capital, Castille Paris and its Italian restaurant L’Assaggio unveil La Terrazza, a hidden courtyard escape opening this month in the heart of Paris’ 1st arrondissement, offering a serene and elegant setting just steps from the Louvre, Opéra, Place Vendôme and directly next door to the iconic Maison Chanel. Framed by a Florentine fountain paying tribute to the hotel’s Italian heritage, La Terrazza is designed as a discreet urban oasis where guests can experience the slower rhythm of Paris in summer.
At a time when the city’s terraces, gardens and cultural institutions come fully to life, La Terrazza offers a quieter alternative to the energy of the season. Conceived around the Italian tradition of aperitivo and convivial outdoor dining, the space brings together seasonal cuisine, champagne pairings and an intimate alfresco atmosphere in one of Paris’ most sought-after neighbourhoods. More than simply an outdoor restaurant, the courtyard evokes the atmosphere of a private Italian palazzo hidden within the city of light, framed by trompe-l’œil frescoes, soft stone walls, Mediterranean planting and the gentle sound of the central fountain. In spring and summer, the space opens entirely into an elegant open-air dining room, creating the feeling of escaping Paris without ever leaving the 1st arrondissement.
For the 2026 season, La Terrazza launches a new partnership with Bollinger Champagne House, bringing together Bollinger Special Cuvée, selections from Domaine Chanson and Gin Anaë. An icon of French Champagne, Bollinger has been producing since 1829 and remains one of the few family-owned independent maisons in the region. This collaboration elevates the aperitivo experience with a curated pairing menu designed around freshness, elegance and seasonal expression. Signature serves include an exclusive Basil Smash alongside bespoke cocktails created to complement each spirit.

The food offering is signed by L’Assaggio’s Executive Chef Marco Terenghi, who presents a menu inspired by the Italian tradition of sharing, elevated through quality produce and a refined Northern Italian sensibility. Highlights include creamy burrata with roasted peppers and datterino tomato sauce with fresh basil, artisanal focaccia pizzas with tomato or four cheeses, summer giardiniera and generous sharing platters designed for relaxed evening dining. The experience is shaped as much by the atmosphere as the cuisine itself, bringing together understated luxury, Italian elegance and a more residential, intimate style of dining rarely found within the Paris luxury hotel scene.
As the sun sets, La Terrazza transforms into one of Paris’ most atmospheric summer addresses. Open daily from 5pm, the courtyard comes alive with a curated program including live piano performances, interactive mixology workshops and seasonal screenings of major cultural and sporting moments throughout the summer.
A natural extension of the Castille Paris identity, La Terrazza reflects the hotel’s signature blend of Parisian allure and Italian style. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, Castille offers an intimate boutique experience where guests can retreat from the energy of Paris while remaining fully immersed in its cultural rhythm.
