FUSIAN Sharpens Brand Identity With its First Refresh in 16 Years

Let's Go!

Ohio’s original fast-casual sushi concept debuts a bold new identity.

Same legendary rolls. Same big flavor. Unmistakably FUSIAN.

FUSIAN Sharpens Brand Identity With its First Refresh in 16 YearsCincinnati, OH  (Restaurant News Release)  After 16 years of making sushi your way, FUSIAN has a new look to match. While the brand continues to highlight its build-your-own format, guided by its “Sushi For You” mantra, the update reinforces its focus on customization and ingredient quality, supported by more defined and recognizable visuals.

The menu builds on its fan-favorite large-format rolls, Asian bowls and flexible ordering format, with premium ingredients prepared daily, alongside select new options and updated names. The shift focuses on how that experience comes to life, strengthening recognition from the first interaction through the full visit.

“The goal was always to make FUSIAN feel like yours – something personal and unique,” said Stephan Harman, co-founder and CEO of FUSIAN. “After 16 years of building it, this rebrand is making that messaging unmistakable.”

The centerpiece of the new redesign is the one-of-its-kind Flying Tiger symbol, which fuses an eagle and tiger into a single form, connecting the name to a distinct visual while referencing the brand’s proud Cincinnati roots. Details including a curled sushi roll tail, chopsticks and a bold expression appear across packaging, menu boards, merchandise and in-store environments, creating a consistent look throughout.

“Rebranding Fusian is about more than a new look – it’s about sharpening how we show up for our guests every day,” said Tyson Yirak, marketing director of FUSIAN. “We’ve evolved the brand to better reflect the quality of our ingredients, the creativity of our menu and the convenience our customers rely on. This next chapter is cleaner, more confident and built to grow with our community.”

Fans First, Partners Second.

Cincinnati-based Dewhaus led the rebrand – and they came to the table as FUSIAN regulars first. Nick and Peta Dew have been guests at FUSIAN restaurants for nearly 15 years, long before they became one of the region’s most respected brand studios. Their award-winning work on Graeter’s Ice Cream showed what it looks like when a beloved brand is ready to grow. FUSIAN gave them the chance to do it again.

“Being FUSIAN fanatics ourselves, our goal was to bring more of their appetizing soul and freshness to the surface,” said Nick and Peta Dew, co-owners of Dewhaus. “We’ve created something iconic that sushi fans across the Midwest could connect with and take pride in. The new brand reflects the joy and bold, free-spirited nature of doing sushi your way, leaning into the individuality of Midwesterners who make it their own. We’re excited to see the Flying Tiger out in the wild.”

The rebrand marks FUSIAN’s first major shift in aesthetics since its debut 16 years ago and represents a deliberate reinvestment in its next chapter. While ownership, mission and values remain the same, this move reinvents how the brand presents itself – a fusion of Japanese Craft and American spirit, built for how people order and eat today.
